New Tshwane, Ekurhuleni mayors appointed

The ANC Gauteng provincial executive committee appointed new mayors to Tshwane and Ekurhuleni municipalities late last night. Kgosientso Sputla Ramokgopa is the new mayor of Tswane, taking over from his aunt, Gwen Ramokgopa, who was appointed by President Jacob Zuma as deputy health minister on Sunday evening. Mondli Gungubele takes over as the Ekurhuleni municipality from Ntombi Mekgwe. The two new mayors will hold their positions until the municipal elections in 2011. Read more: Times Live
