SA second last in citizen safety index

The World Justice Project released its Rule of Law Index last week, with South Africa coming second last out of the 35 countries surveyed. The only country behind us was Liberia. The index measures how a country's laws are implemented in practice and Japan and Singapore nabbed the first and second spots. Other countries that scored higher than South Africa include Colombia and El Salvador, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria and the Philippines. Read more: TimesLive
