Atul Kumar Gupta, the billionaire businessman who is also publisher of The New Age newspaper, was arrested on Saturday night. Gupta was stopped by police during a routine patrol, but refused to allow them to search him or his car, and started trying to throw his weight around. "[Gupta] boasted that he was well-connected to Cele, threatening the arresting officers that they would pay for their actions," The Sowetan quoted a source as saying.
