Charges dropped against 30 Hangberg protesters

Police arrested 60 protesters at the Hangberg community in Hout Bay after violent clashes over shack evictions, but charges against more than 30 of the arrested have been dropped by prosecutors, according to EyeWitness News. The State will proceed against 15 people. Meanwhile, a very tense peace has been maintained in Hangberg after the violence of Tuesday, with police maintaining a heavy presence in the area.  Read more: EyeWitness News
