“Borat” to play Freddie Mercury

Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Sacha Baron Cohen (you may know him better by his alter egos, Ali G, Borat, and Bruno) has closed a deal to play Freddie Mercury in an upcoming biopic, scheduled for filming in 2011. Freddie Mercury, for the woefully uneducated, was the lead singer of Queen, one of the greatest rock bands ever. The film will apparently focus on the early Queen years, culminating in the 1985 Live Aid concert, where Queen's performance was considered one of the greatest live performances ever. If there's one actor who could pull Freddie Mercury off convincingly, it's Cohen, but can he sing? Freddie Mercury had an astonishingly powerful voice, and somehow, we don't think Cohen's tenor warble (remember Sweeny Todd?) will suffice.
