SABC hearing open to public

The South African National Editors' Forum and Parliament jointly announced on Tuesday that the portfolio committee on communications and the SABC will hold an open meeting "to discuss the functionality of the board, the appointment of the group executive: news and current affairs, and the corporation's turn-around strategy". This public hearing has been agreed to after Sanef was granted an interim order on 24 August to prevent the meeting from taking place behind closed doors. Sanef will now drop its court proceedings.  Read more: News24
