Prison Break Africa: Hundreds of prisoners escape in Nigeria

Authorities are seeking almost 700 prisoners who escaped from a jail in northern Nigeria after gunmen broke in and almost emptied the jail. 721 inmates escaped, but authorities immediately recaptured 35 of the detainees. Authorities suspect that the Boko Haram Islamist sect was responsible for the attack, which freed the inmates and left one police officer dead and two prison officials injured. More than 200 Boko Haram gunmen attacked the prison where some of their members were detained. This is certainly a less fussy way to spring someone from jail than messing about with with full body tattoos and an elaborate plan. Read more: AFP via Yahoo News, CNN
