Vuvuzela blares its way into Oxford Dictionary

The vuvuzela, our very own weapon of mass distraction, is included in the latest edition of the Oxford English Dictionary, sealing its place in history as perhaps the single most annoying thing in football (aside, of course, from Liverpool fans). It perhaps made the quickest ascent into global public consciousness of all of this year's new words, taking all of one month to hammer its way into English lexicon. Other new words to make the cut are "staycation", "toxic debt", "cheesebal" and "national treasure". Read more: The Guardian.
