Press Ombudsman finds against City Press

The Deputy Press Ombudsman has found against the City Press for a story the paper published in August 2009 with the headline "Phosa tries to muzzle City Press". Both ANC Treasurer General Mathews Phosa and the ANC laid complaints against the City Press. Johan Retief, the Deputy Ombudsman ruled that Phosa had not been given ample time to respond and thus the paper had been in breach of Article 1.1 of the Press Code and ordered it to apologise.
