Dutch court sends 14-year-old Laura Dekker on her solo way around the world

The last barrier to Laura Dekker attempting to become the youngest person to ever sail around the world solo dropped away on Tuesday afternoon, when a Middelburg's family court lifted a guardianship order. That puts her parents back in charge of her, and her mother did finally agree to let the trip go ahead, though not before she ran away to the Dutch Antilles in December. She has until September 2012 to complete her trip in order to beat the current record. BBC
