Australian voters are in favour of retaining Julia Gillard as their prime minister, according to a poll on Monday in the Australian newspaper. Gillard found favour with 57% of people surveyed, while opposition leader Tony Abbott came in at a distant 27%. The Australian elections are set to take place on 21 August. And all Australians will have to make their minds up one way or the other - it's illegal not to vote in that country. Read more: Reuters via M&G
