Strike called off after Eskom ups offer

Trade unions have called off the Eskom strike that they had threatened this week after the parastatal increased its wage offer to 9% and a R1,500 housing allowance. Never mind the sighs of relief from the manufacturing and mining sectors - most South Africans will just be glad that the lights will stay on for the remainder of the World Cup. Read more: M&G
