Gillard announces new cabinet

Australia's new Prime Minister Julia Gillard, announced her cabinet on Monday. She made minimal changes: trade minister Simon Crean becomes minister of education, employment and workplace relations (Gillard's old portfolio). Foreign affairs minister Stephen Smith will take over Crean's portfolio in addition to his own. Former prime minister Kevin Rudd was not given a position. Read more: Sydney Morning Herald
