Cops take over Ellis Park security too

A thousand police officers were deployed at the Ellis Park stadium after Stallion Security staff there went on strike, bringing to four the number of stadia now guarded by cops. If experience in Cape Town is anything to go by, that should have no effect on tonight's match between Brazil and North Korea, but it increases pressure on the Local Organising Committee to sort the mess out.
