NUM wants Eskom strike, pronto

By Andy Rice 14 June 2010

The National Union of Mineworkers says it has started the legal wheels turning and plans to launch a strike against Eskom soon, as no resolution could be reached around housing allowances. That could mean a strike at the utility well before the end of the World Cup, and given the size of the union it is unlikely that full electricity provision would be maintained in such an eventuality.
