Bhopal marks quarter century anniversary of gas leak

India marks 25 years since a devastating gas leak killed thousands and sickened many more on December 3, 1984 – the world’s worst industrial accident. Forty tons of methyl isocyanate leaked from a factory run by US-owned Union Carbide and settled over slums around the plant. Residents of Bhopal have held a week of commemoration events in the lead-up to the anniversary.
