UK climate change row to go on review

The head of the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit, a prestigious British research centre accused of manipulating data about climate change, has stepped down in the face of an independent review over the unit’s activities. Phil Jones’ emails were among thousands of bits of correspondence leaked to the Internet last month, seriously embarrassing the university. The investigation will mainly cover data security, and whether the university responded properly to Freedom of Information requests. Sceptics of man-made climate change accuse Jones of manipulating data to support his research, especially regarding a leaked e-mail where he says he had used a "trick" to "hide the decline" in a chart detailing global temperatures.Read more: The Washington Post
