Probe of Iran’s nuclear plants at a ‘dead end’ says ElBaradei
Mohamed ElBaradei, the soon-to-depart head of the International Atomic Energy Aagency, announced that his organisation’s examination of Iran’s nuclear programme had reached “a dead end”. Moreover, any trust in Tehran’s word is fading after belated revelations it was secretly building a nuclear facility. ElBaradei's criticism of Iran just four days before he leaves the IAEA means a closer convergence with American governmental views after criticism that the IAEA was being too gentle on Iran. Iran received criticism from the IAEA's 35-nation board in a resolution taking Tehran to task on a range of nuclear issues. It was signed by the US, Britain, France and Germany, as well as Russia and China. For more, read the AP
