Founder of Tibetan website gets 15 years in the Chinese big house
The founder of a Tibetan literary Website has reportedly been sentenced to 15 years in prison for disclosing state secrets. In Tibetan literature? Kunchok Tsephel got the bad news after his closed-door trial on charges included posting news about last year's anti-government protests in Tibet. Before joining Beijing's 10 most-wanted list, Tsephel had worked for a Chinese government environmental department. In the wake of the Tibetan protests, the Chinese government installed a heavy security presence in the region, arresting thousands in connection with the unrest.
