Ivorians in ‘play it again Sam’ election

The whole country can say “I told you so”, as Ivory Coast confirmed a "slight delay" in holding a presidential poll set for late November. The election was meant to unsplit the split nation after a 2002/2003 civil war saw it divide into north (mainly Muslim) and south. The delay is over rebel disarmament and voter identification in the world’s leading cocoa grower. The country’s election commissioner did not say when he expected the election to go ahead, but this won’t be news to Ivorians, who have waited many, many years to vote. Read more: Reuters, BBC, VOA
