Toyota is profitable again, but not much

The third quarter brought Toyota back to where it used to be, as a profitable company. But it wasn’t by much. All in all, the makers of Corolla managed to eke out $242 million profit, after the triple benefit of cost cuts, government support and global recovery. Still, it is big news, because the company lost money in the three previous quarters. Toyota still predicts its annual loss will be about $2.2 billion, which is better than last year’s $4.85 billion, its worst performance ever. Read more: New York Times
