Abdullah Abdullah says Karzai’s election illegal

After withdrawing from the presidential run-off election a few days earlier, Abdullah Abdullah said Hamid Karzai's re-election was illegal, and will make it hard for him to address the country’s endemic corruption or deal with its many other fearsome challenges. Karzai had pledged to eradicate government corruption even though he had seemed to reject the idea of removing tainted officials. Western leaders have continued to urge Karzai to focus strongly on governance, security and corruption. Read more: VOA
