Wanted: dead or alive – Taliban leaders

Pakistan has hit on a tactic out of the old Wild West, offering bounties for Taliban leaders and  advertising payments totalling $5 million for information contributing to the capture of Taliban leaders and commanders. And if that’s not enough, it’s offering $600,000 for the capture - dead or alive - of Taliban leader, Hakimullah Mehsud, and his two top aides. These bounties are being announced as the Pakistani army continues its operations in South Waziristan against the militants. If you see any of those men, you know what to do. Maybe it was the wrong incentive, however. Within hours of the announcement of these payments, suicide bombers struck again in Rawalpindi, killing at least 30 people. Read more: BBC
