Djibouti says Eritrea fans chaos in region

Djibouti has accused neighbouring Eritrea of arming and training militants to carry out sabotage in the small country. It also says Eritrea is fomenting chaos in the region. Last week Somalia said Eritrea should be punished for destabilising the Horn of Africa by supporting the radical Islamist al-Shabaab group, which Washington says is linked to al-Qaeda. Britain, the UN and the African Union also accuse Eritrea of fanning chaos in Somalia, with Britain telling the UN it is ready to punish the Eritreans. Djibouti, a former French colony, hosts France's largest military base in Africa as well as a major US base, and is Washington's chief regional ally.Read more: Reuters, Reuters
