An Algerian Islamist radical group is reported to have killed at least six private security guards in an ambush east of the capital, Algiers. The attack was the deadliest since July, when Islamist militants killed 11 soldiers. Al-Qaeda has a significant presence in the Maghreb region, emerging from the home-grown fundamentalist Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat, which has fought the government for years.Read more: Reuters
