Algerians protest over housing delivery

Algerian police faced stones and petrol bombs in the capital, Algiers, after a second day of clashes over housing. The country has a high unemployment rate and struggles to house its people. The protesters claimed they had not been included in a list of folk who qualified for re-housing. Algeria has significant oil resources and is the world's fourth biggest exporter of natural gas. But the nation has seen years of deadly conflict between government and Islamist radical groups affiliated to al-Qaeda and doesn’t need more civil unrest.
