Four top SABC managers suspended on suspicion of spending irregularities

By Incorrect Author 16 October 2009

Four top SABC managers, including the chief financial officer and the head of procurement, were suspended on Friday morning. They will face inquiries and disciplinary hearings, and some of them may even do the in-thing and turn to the courts for reinstatement. But the implication-by-proximity is clear: the auditor general investigated spending irregularities at the broadcaster (on top of other investigations). The four - CFO Robin Nicholson, procurement head Mabela Satekge, content group executive Mvuzo Mbebe and audience division head Anton Heunis - are effectively accused of incompetence, at best.
