EU signs $28 billion trade deal with South Korea

The world’s largest trading zone, the European Union, and South Korea have finally come to an agreement about a wide range of trade and development issues. The trade between the two sides is already around $98 billion annually and lowering barriers will see Europeans competing in services, manufacturing and agriculture. While EU officials call the deal “the most important free trade agreement ever negotiated [with] a third country", many are crying foul at the level of European markets’ openness created by the deal.
