MDC’s Bennett to face Zimbabwe terrorism charges

So much for the restoration of peace and freedom in Zimbabwe under the unity government. The country’s prosecutors intend to indict senior Movement for Democratic Change official Roy Bennett on terrorism charges. Bennett was arrested in February as the new cabinet was sworn in, although he is the party's nominee for deputy agriculture minister. Zimbabwe law states a person indicted for trial is automatically taken into custody and has to apply for fresh bail. The Supreme Court earlier freed Bennett after he spent a month in jail. Bennett represents an end to land grabs, something that Robert Mugabe continues to show he is not keen to do.
