Bafana coach Santana nears his red card

By Incorrect Author 14 October 2009

At this rate SA national soccer coach Joel Santana won’t last much longer. South African soccer fans were already in an uproar, but losing to Iceland (yes, apparently they have a soccer team) on Tuesday night is probably the last straw. This is the team that is supposed to beat Italy and Brazil seven months from now, for crying out loud. Football authorities have said Santana will have a little more leeway, but they are also reportedly talking to alternative coaches behind his back. The deadline is probably sometime before the middle of November when Bafana are due to play Japan and Jamaica. If the team loses against those two countries, it might as well pack its tog bags.
