DRC, Angola suspend tit-for-tat expulsions

The DRC and its western neighbour Angola have agreed to halt a tit-for-tat wave of deportations in which tens of thousands of foreign nationals have been expelled from the two countries. Angola says the DRC has deported more than 20,000 Angolans recently in retaliation for Angola's expulsion of illegal Congolese diamond miners. The deportations have only been suspended, which means they could start up again. Angola’s booting out of Congolese miners is said to be accompanied by widespread rape, beatings and looting.
