Ebola strikes fear in south Sudan

A suspected Ebola outbreak has killed about 23 people and infected many more in south Sudan. The disease, one of the most virulent viral diseases known, and without cure, was discovered in south Sudan and the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo in 1976. Death rates vary between 25% and 90%. Symptoms of the disease, which is spread through bodily fluids, include vomiting blood and bleeding from the ears and nose.
