Glenn Agliotti – how do you describe him ... businessman? – continued giving evidence against his former friend and erstwhile national police commissioner Jackie Selebi yesterday, and once again, the similarities with the Shaik case are remarkable. Like Shaik did for (current SA president) Zuma, Agliotti reported giving dozens of “gifts” to Selebi from the very small to the very large, ultimately spending about R1m. Yet the difference is that Agliotti got plenty in return. He was apparently paid $1 million for introducing father and son duo Kebble to Selebi, and $100,000 by Zimbabwean, er, businessman Billy Rautenbach for the same privilege. Agliotti also got a reward of R110 000 for snitching on an R80 million mandrax deal involving a mysterious “Madame Cheng”.
