Ethiopia hit hard as East Africa faces famine
Hunger is stalking Ethiopia again because of severe drought, and it will need more than a Band Aid to help as many as 6.2 million people in need of emergency assistance. According to Oxfam, rural pastoralists in the country's south have been particularly affected by the lack of rain. But Oxfam also warns that severe regional drought is threatening more than 23 million in Kenya, Somalia, Uganda and other East African countries, and that the situation is being made worse by high food prices and conflict.
