Cisco spends R22 billion on Norwegian video communications firm, Tandberg
In another sign that blood is returning to global corporate arteries the world’s biggest networking company, Cisco Systems is to expand emphatically into affordable video conferencing. Cisco is already a world-leading provider in virtual boardroom conferencing systems with its $240,000 Telepresence. Tandberg fits neatly into the cheaper space, but has also been very adept at making different technologies work together. With a mind-boggling $35 billion in cash and a long trail of successful acquisitions over the last 15 years, Cisco looks well-positioned to continue its domination of the everything-networking space.
