Second crash for Merebank pilot

The Star is reporting that the pilot whose plane crashed into a school fence in Merebank, outside Durban, had previously crashed another aircraft into a roof of a residential property. A Civil Aviation Authority report shows the pilot, with five passengers, took off from Manzengwenya Aerodrome on a chartered flight to Virginia Aerodrome on 21 August 2005. Despite the drizzling weather, the pilot reportedly told the air traffic controller his visibility was good - before crashing into a residential property.
