Daily Maverick has announced the appointment of Gerald Schreiner to head up Business Development for the digital news publisher. Schreiner, with 18 years of commercial experience in media and events in Cape Town and London, joins having spent more than a decade in driving new business for a B2B technology publication group. 

Schreiner offered: “After 13 years, I am ready for a new challenge. I have been looking for a new home where both my commercial acuity and creativity will thrive and where I can add to the growth objectives of that organisation,  and I believe the Daily Maverick is it.” 

Schreiner will report directly to the directors of Daily Maverick and will play an especially close role with the CEO, Styli Charalambous, as the digital publisher rolls out its commercial growth strategy. “Gerald was the standout candidate for the position with his relevant experience and hunger to join a street-fighting operation with lots of opportunities ahead and a great brand. I’m looking forward to seeing Gerald play a crucial role in the evolution of Daily Maverick.”
