Blair to get Liberty Medal in the US

The US National Constitutional Centre, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is due to award former British prime minister Tony Blair with the Liberty Medal, given to individuals or organisations that work to bring liberty to people worldwide. The organisation is due to present the medal on Monday to Blair in recognition of his work with the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, which promotes religious tolerance, as well as some other work he does in Africa. The award comes at a time when Blair's memoirs have reignited the debate about his decision to join America's invasion of Iraq in 2003.
