Government formulates acid water drainage plan

On Monday water affairs minister Buyelwa Sonjica briefed the media on the government's plan to deal with the acid mine water crisis in Johannesburg. While she was short on specific details, she did indicated that part of the plan included building a pump station (slated to cost R185 million) to drain the water. The cabinet has also appointed an inter-ministerial committee to address the matter. The committee will present its findings to the Cabinet within six weeks. Read more: TimesLive
