Selebi sentencing postponed to August
Former national police commissioner Jackie Selebi will have to wait until 2 August to receive his jail sentence, as not all of his character witnesses were available. Selebi was convicted on charges of corruption on July 2. In court on Wednesday Judge Meyer Joffe also ruled that about R160,000 of Selebi's assets could be confisacted, but only once the appeal process has been finalised.
