Church and van Schalkwyk settle vuvuzela battle with minimum fuss, noise
The Nazareth Baptist Church (Shembe) and Masincedane Sport Company, co-owned by Neil van Schalkwyk, have reach an out-of-court agreement on the matter of who invented the vuvuzela. Masincedane owns the trademark on the instrument, but the church says that the kudu horn (the modern vuvuzela's ancestor) was first was used by Prophet Isaiah Shembe in 1910. Legal representatives from both sides will meet over the next week to finalise a settlement.
