Belgian separatists dominate the elections

The Flemist separatist N-VA party topped the polls in Sunday's elections. The party was far short of an outright majority though, which will mean a long summer of negotiations, as a new government isn't expected to be formed before September. The N-VA ran on a divisive platform, calling for Belgium to split along linguistic lines. Flemish-speaking Flanders generally like this proposal, although the French-speaking Walloons aren't so happy about it.  Financial Times
