Playboy bunny consolidates under new content chief
Jimmy Jelinek, former editor-in-chief of the US versions of Stuff and Maxim magazines, has been appointed chief content officer of Playboy Enterprises Inc. The newly created job is a key part of the company’s strategy to consolidate its media properties, and Jelinek, 35, will oversee content development across print, TV, online, film, mobile and radio. Playboy integrated its print and online operations in early 2009, redesigning Playboy.com to allow for multi-platform advertising around the various content layers. Jelinek will report directly to Hugh Hefner, founder, editor-in-chief and chief creative officer of the brand.
