Italian ConCourt tells Berlusconi: ‘No animals are more equal than other animals - after all’

Despite a ruling by Italy’s Constitutional Court that he is not entitled to immunity from prosecution and that his corruption and fraud trials can go ahead, Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi vowed to stay on and "go forward". This decision gives prosecutors one more bite at the apple to ask for his criminal conviction and added to his litany of problems already including headline-grabbing sex scandals. Berlusconi dismissed any thought he might resign and argued they will simply detract from some of the time he would have spent governing. Berlusconi continues to be widely popular in Italy, despite accusations from his wife, who is now divorcing him, that he has had relationships with younger women and allegations he spent a night with a call girl.
