President Jacob Zuma’s media attack dog, Hlaudi Motsoeneng, has been goring the African National Congress into embarrassment of late. Luckily, the ANC is unembarrassable, and Secretary-General Gwede Mantashe hosted a press conference on Tuesday, where he declared electoral victory, slapped the SABC leadership into submission, and warned those sponsoring regime change in Zimbabwe to back off. Sanders endorses Clinton

After months of bitter rivalry, Bernie Sanders has announced his endorsement of Hillary Clinton. Amidst banners of “Stronger Together”, Sanders and Clinton addressed a packed New Hampshire audience. The Sanders endorsement locked away will now result in a fully-armed Democratic campaign to resist Donald Trump’s bombastapalooza.  Read more

China must obey law of the sea – Australia

Diplomatic pressure has mounted against China in the wake of an important ruling on the South China Sea territorial claim. Australian foreign minister Julie Bishop joined called today for Beijing to respect international law. A UN-backed court declared on Tuesday that China had no historical claim to the South China Sea. Pokemon Go vindicates Nintendo’s shift

Netting $1.6 million a day from American players alone, the release of Nintendo’s Pokemon Go has boosted its share value by 60 percent in four sessions. Using augmented reality via your smartphone, you can expect to see South Africa’s children – and some adults – walking through the streets frantically-looking for Pokemon. A child in the USA has already stumbled upon a corpse in a river while looking for a water-type. The future truly has arrived. Read more

First Jupiter pic beamed down

Nasa’s Juno mission probe has sent its first image of Jupiter back to earth. Including three of its moons, Io, Europa and Ganymede, the probe is on a larger arc away from Jupiter, but will return in August with an even better picture. And no, you cannot play Pokemon Go in space. Read more
