SA 38th in media freedom index

On Wednesday morning the organisation Reporters Without Borders released its world press freedom index, with Finland, Iceland, The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland tying for top spot. South Africa is sitting in 38th position, having slipped five places from its 2009 ranking.The report stated that the fall was largely owing to the attitude of the ANC towards the press.  Read more: Full RSF report
