Tottenham Hotspurs want Bongani Khumalo

Barclays Premiership side Tottenham Hotspurs are reportedly ready to shell out a record R17 million for Supersport United captain Bongani Khumalo. The defender will fly out to London tonight for a week of training, according to reports. Khumalo will only join Spurs officially in the January transfer window, but will make regular trips in the meanwhile to White Hart Lane, which will allow him to adjust to coach Harry Redknapp's training regime. Players who make the jump from the PSL to a top flight league like the Premier League, without the intermediary step of playing in a lesser European league first, usually don't do very well, but Khumalo's maturity and focus should save him from embarrassments suffered by those who went before him.
