The phrase "sub-Saharan Africa" must go, says Celebrate Africa Foundation

The Celebrate Africa Foundation has called on editors across the world to discontinue using the phrase "sub-Saharan Africa". According to the foundation, the phrase is a "pejorative term" that is "disparaging and contemptuous". The foundation plans to gather 2 million signatures in their petition, which will be handed to world leaders and global organisations.
