NFVF chooses Life, Above All as SA’s foreign film entry for Oscars

The National Film and Video foundation has announced that Life, Above All will be South Africa's official entry for the best foreign film category in the 2011 Academy Awards. The film, which premiered at Cannes earlier this year, tells the story of a 12-year-old girl, who bravely confronts prejudices around Aids in her community. If the reaction at Cannes is anything to go by, the film should make the final shortlist, and has the potential to scoop an Oscar.  Read more: The Daily Maverick
