Iran to release female hiker

Sarah Shourd, one of three Americans held in Iran for more than a year after straying across the border while hiking in Iraq, will be released on Saturday, the Iranian government announced on Friday. Her release is a “a gesture of clemency” to mark the ending of the holy Islamic fast of Ramadan. However, this clemency doesn't extend to the two male hikers who were arrested with her, who will remain in jail. Read more: The Washington Post, Bloomberg
